Youth on the Move
Carolina Bracamonte is a senior at UCLA, majoring in Sociology and minoring in Political Science. She did a Travel Study program in International Politics over the summer in which she took 2 courses and traveled to London, Belgium, Amsterdam, Paris and Spain. The trip was an experience of a life time and she encourages anyone interested in studying abroad to go for it! In the future she has plans to do International Work, continue to travel and return to graduate school.
Here are a few pictures from her travels:
Lorronishae Escalona is turning her creativity into a career, using the camera and computer equipment she was able to purchase with help from JIT to start her own photography business. Plus, she has an incredible voice that you might get to hear at upcoming JIT events!
Lindsey Truong is a film major at Pratt Institute. She is now a sophomore and "spent most of the year in drawing and other art classes while also taking film classes and photography classes."
Check out some of Lindsey's work below.
Jesse Lee has been the JIT Video Project Manager for our two recent events, helping to plan, shoot and edit video for the Vaughn Family Event on June 3 and College Bound on June 9 (where he was also a recipient as part of the class of 2010). Look for his video on the JIT homepage soon.
Jesse plans to become an entrepreneur in fashion design and provide opportunities for other foster youth alumni. He is currently attending San Diego Mesa Community College.
Sofia Thayer is pictured with Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher receiving an award of recognition as FosterClub's Outstanding Young Leader of 2009.
Sofia is currently leading the movement to start a San Diego Regional Chapter through the California Foster Care Alumni Association.
