Help a Youth Move into Their First Home!
My First Home provides resources to help youth furnish their first apartments
For 20 years, Just in Time has provided life sustaining relationships and resources to transition age foster youth – and it all started with My First Home, our flagship service.
Back in 2002, we realized that, although youth were transitioning into housing, they often didn’t have the resources to furnish their apartments. This meant they usually didn’t have beds to sleep in, pans to cook with, or dining tables to eat at.
Today, My First Home continues to collect and distribute essential household items to help youth turn empty apartments into safe and comfortable homes.
Want to get involved? Together with your friends, family, work colleagues, club or house of worship, you can collect our most needed NEW items in a My First Home Mini Drive to help youth create a home that is truly their own. We accept individual donations as well!
“I got so much stuff for my kitchen, which was a desperate need. I got knives, a cutting board, silverware kitchen mats, so many things! I also got a new bed, which I am so happy about, but my favorite part was a new desk and office supplies.”
Dulce, JIT My First Home Participant
